Lake Ridge Academy Thespians Shine Bright At State Competition

Thespians from Lake Ridge Academy brought home multiple awards from the Ohio Thespians Fall ThesFest. The annual event, sponsored by the Ohio Educational Theatre Association and held at Hilliard Darby High School, includes events like the Ohio Unified Auditions and interviews, the All-Ohio show auditions and interviews, the Thespy Competition, the Technical Theatre & Design Symposium, and the Theatre College & University Fair.

“We are a small school doing big things at the state level,” said Kristy Rodriguez, Director of Theatre at Lake Ridge Academy. “Each year, our students represent the types of opportunities available at LRA for students who want to develop their skills and passion for theatre.”

All three LRA students who auditioned for the All-Ohio Production of Head Over Heels at the ThesFest were selected: Kashmere Shafik ‘24 and Katherine Tillery ‘25 were awarded principal roles, while Jacob Robertson ‘24 was named Head Costume Designer. Head Over Heels will debut in March at the State Thespian Convention.

In the Thespy competition, Sabrina Wisniewski ‘24 and Katherine Tillery ‘25 earned Excellent ratings for Solo Acting.
